Parcels

How parcels are identified and linked to HOA documents.

What is a parcel?

A parcel is a specific piece of real property identified by an Assessor's Parcel Number (APN). APNs are assigned by county assessor offices and are the standard way to identify properties.

APN format

APN formats vary by county. Franklin County, Washington uses nine digits, for example 118112024. Send the digits without dashes.

Two counties can use the same APN, so always send the county parameter.

Parcels are linked to documents and HOA entities through the parcel_links table. A single parcel may be associated with:

  • Multiple documents (CC&Rs, amendments, bylaws)
  • One or more HOA entities
  • Restrictions from any of its linked documents
